Pre-Fall 2012 Herve Ledger by Max Azria

It seems nearly impossible to make the same styled dress every season and keep it popular.  It seems like a ludicrous idea to even think of doing it.  Yet, Herve Ledger by Max Azria, Max and Lubov Azria have yet again made a line of bandage dresses, (the same ones they made popular in the 80's). They are quite genius if you think about it; to even be able to create the same dress, yet be able to re-design it every season to make it modern to the season.  This season they add a few different styled pieces including pants, while still keeping a bandage style top.  Their placement of lines and color in these garments this season have been perfected a little more to be quite flattering to several types of figures.  I really like their designs, they are smart designers if you ask me in the way they place the lines and colors to be so figure flattering.

-Hint of mod?  Or is it just me?

Dsquared2 Pre-fall 2012

Well today, I am in the process of creating a diy project.  I will definitely share it when I finish, hopefully tomorrow.  Other than that, I have been a bit of a debbie downer today.  Not so fun, I am in a funk.  Anyway...  How do I exactly pull myself out of this funk?  Well simply by remembering that pre-fall 2012 lines have been coming out, and where have I been?  In a funk.  Let me begin by saying, how excited I am and always am when new lines come out.  I obsess over lines and fabrics, colors, cuts and designs.  I think I am definitely in the right profession to continue to enjoy this obsession.  I am also constantly thinking, planning and discovering what it exactly is in certain lines that draws me in.  Dean and Dan Caten, also known as Dsquared2 constantly draw me in.  They have a bad or naughty girl vibe.  The girls always clean cut, but yet ever so slightly rough around the edges.  They design for girls.  I know it sounds like a ridiculous statement; of course they design for girls, but they really design for girls different shapes, while making sure the cut of the garment and the fabric will also be complimentary to a girls figure.  They use simple styling, and their looks can usually been worn right off the runway...sometimes.  In this particular line for pre-fall 2012 the colors are bright, the hemlines are short, and a vibe of ever subtle mod looks loom in the photographs.  I love how the girl models, with a little shitty smirk on her face, which just says..."Yes, I am better than you and I look damn good too."

-Could someone even look bad in either of the dresses below?

This outfit below, blows my mind.  I really like it.

Mod Stlye Coming Back?

Is it just me, or is mod coming back in style?  I have noticed the past two covers for Nylon magazine have had a very strong influence of the mod style.  I must say, I have started to incorporate more of a mod stlye in my personal style.  The other day I posted my incredibly dark cat eye make-up and I recently cut my bangs.  I hope this style keeps coming back because it is one of my favorites.  I have also been listening to "The Like" alot.  The band incorporates a mod style especially in the song "He's not a boy."  The video is so awesome.  The dancing is quite fabulous along with the clothes and make-up.

Alexa Chung

Just a short post today.  Alexa Chung for once changes her style up a bit as she added a girly look to her more common tom boy style.  I like this look alot on her.  I think it is always good to see a change in peoples stlyes.

Homemade: Red Dress

This dress was my final project for my sewing class.  I thought it would be festive to wear on Christmas.  I did not like it at first, but now it is growing on me.  To me, it is a bit loose in areas and the arm bands sometimes feel tight around my arms.  When I was tailoring it, I had to take it in two sizes.  Everything was way off in the patterns measurements.  I do not like using patterns, they ususally have odd sizes.  I really like that I added pockets too, they are so convenient.  Red is also very in style this season.  I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

-I was a little cold today so I wore my dress with these boots.  They are so comfortable and probably a bad fashion statement, but whatever.

-This is a ceramic Christmas tree my Mom made for her mother one Christmas.  I love it.  The picture on the left is not lite and the one on the left is.  The colors are so pretty.

-I like the dress better with heels.

-I got these fabulous earrings I got from an antique store downtown.  They are so retro and vintage.  The only downfall is they make my ears swell because I am allergic to the metal.

Cat Eye Eye-Liner

I put this crazy thick blackness on my lids before work the other day.  I thought it may have been a bit much, but I really like it.  I am planning on doing it again sometime soon.  Cat eye's are so 60's retro, and trendy, but I actually consider them a classic now.  Things become classic when they become a trend alot, honestly I forget how many times it has to go through the fashion cycle, possibly 15 times before it is a classic.  Do not quote me on that and correct me if you know what it really is.  Anyway, here is what my make-up looked like this past week.  I never realized my eyes are seriously different colors, crazy.

-I just did minimal make-up for the rest of my face.  I wanted the eye-liner to stand out and not make it complicated by adding lipstick.

Blake Lively

Still, I cannot believe Christmas is this weekend.  I am so excited!! Sorry for not posting for the past two or three days, I had very long shifts at work.  I am still wiped out.  For now I only have a short post before I watch the back of my eyelids for the night.  I am planning on posting pictures from Christmas baking and a make-up post.  I also have to post my new retro vintage earrings.  Can't wait.  Here is Blake Lively looking effortlessy chic and comfortable.  I am in love with her scarf.

Paper Crown

Christmas is this week.  Do you believe it?  It came so quick this year, it seems.  I love Christmas time and spending it with my family.  It is truly a magical season.  I am planning on wearing my final project from sewing class (a red dress) for church on Christmas Eve.  I can not wait to share it with all of you.  I also got a pair of vintage clip-on earrings, which made my ears swell a bit because I am allergic to the metal...but I absolutely love them!!!!  I will definitly post pictures coming up when my ears un-swell and return to looking swell.  I also forgot to mention that style.com had their first printed magazine on shelves in December.  I was at Barnes & Noble and looked through the amazing pages, though I could not justify spending the $14.99 for it, it was a really great magazine.  With a site like style.com, I would expect nothing less.  Speaking of good websites, here is a site that I just stumbled upon called paper-crown.com.  I love the clothes, they are simple but elegant and cute.  I found some pictures from the holiday 2011 lookbook.  Enjoy!
I really like this floral fabric below.  The photography is beautiful along with the styling and over all design of the garments.
