Catherine Middleton in Roksanda Ilinic

The Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine Middleton is so classy and gorgeous, which I typically say in every post about her.  I love how she re-wears her dresses and re-styles them.  She is a real girl!  Love this dress and her beautiful style.

Black and White Photo Inspiration

I have neglected my poor blog it seems for a little while.  Okay, so technically I always post at least twice a week usually a lot more, so I have not really neglected it at all.  I always begin to miss my blog though.  This past week I actually got pretty sick for a few days and just needed some sleep and honestly I sort of ran out of some ideas to post about.  I hate when that happens, but hey it happens to the best of us.  This week to come, I am very excited for a trip to Ohio for my annual family reunion.  I really need a vacation and some time away from this small town. What better way to spend it than with family?
Well, since I have admitted to running out of ideas to post about, I wanted to post black and white pictures.  Why?  I love black and white photos, they just look beautiful and I find them inspiring.  I always like to post just random photos during the week for inspiration, so enjoy.  Most of the pictures are from the ever addicting pinterest.com.

Catherine Middleton and Prince Harry

This picture is adorable.  I saw it on people.com and had to share.  I love both of their clean cut styles; nothing but class.

Clutches from Old Vinyl Signs

This is the fun project I have been working on.  At my job we change advertising signs every three months and throw out the old vinyl signs for the new.  This past sign switch, I suggested they would be fun to make something out of.  My manager was more than willing to give them to me so she would not have to throw them out.  I went home and created a big beach bag and (my favorite) a clutch with a gold chain which can be tucked inside if I want to wear it as a clutch.  I then wore the bag to work and got a few orders for the bag from my co-workers.  I have been busy designing, sewing and just seeing what I can come up with.  I never realized how tricky it can be to sew vinyl.  I love a challenge though and it has been interesting to see what solutions I have been able to come up with.  I hope you like them and there will be plenty more to share with all of you in the future, especially since many of these are still being finished with the little details like buttons and straps.
 -Sewing the velcro closure...
 -More work with the velcro...

-A short carrot cake and coffee break.
-Got to love the little sleepy doggie, Sophie.

 -The beach bag...

-A clutch, do you like this button?
 -This button...
 -This button...
 -This bow....
 -Or this gold button?
-This is my finished pineapple clutch.
-This picture does not have the gold button on it, but shows how large it is.  I love my big bags.

I am feeling nostalgic...

I am still working on two fun projects and will begin to share one tomorrow at some point.  I just need to take more pictures.  For now, I am feeling a bit nostalgic since this past year I was unable to make our yearly trip to my home state and place of Annapolis, Maryland.  I only lived there until I was five years old, but have been back every year except this year.  I go through times of just missing it.  I think it is one of the most beautiful places I have been to and lived in.  The people are amazing.  There is always something to do and the whole town has such a happy vibe; it is magical to me.  Here is some music and pictures.
-Okay, so this song below is about California...but it works for Annapolis too.

A Red Bow

This morning I sat down at my work table with a cup of coffee, good music, and my idea book and sketchbook.  (Yes, there is a difference in the two books.)  I needed to finally organize a bunch of ideas and designs that have been floating about in my head.  Though, I easily get distracted and created a hair bow in the process of writing my ideas down.  I still accomplished organizing my thoughts and making a small shopping list to finish future and present projects I am working on.  I now have a cute hair bow to wear while accomplishing my shopping.
-Here is a recipe for a great morning; coffee, ipod and an idea and sketchbook.

Handmade: Mini Circle Skirt Shirt

I really liked these tops or dresses with the flair at the waistline.  I decided to get one that I really liked, why not make one.  Here is the top I made this summer to take part in the mini circle skirt shirt trend.  I am not sure what the real name for this style of shirt is, but I just thought I would make it a long name like mini circle skirt shirt.  Try saying that ten times fast.  Anyway, I need a haircut as you can tell from the frizzy mess upon my head.

Circle Skirt, "Poofy" Dresses, The Bouffant, 50's Skirts and Dresses

Whatever you may call it, circle skirts are in style for Resort 2013.  Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved dresses, even if I hardly wear them.  (I need to make myself some more dresses.)  I remember having a large multi-colored 50's circle underskirt when I was little and twirling in it until I could hardly stand.  I found my circle skirt the other week in my attic and after a good wash I may have worn it around the house; possibly even twirled a little too much in it.  You can never get to old to play dress up if you ask me.  Needless to say that when I began to see circle skirts and the bouffant styled dresses on the runways and on celebrities, I was incredibly thrilled.  After going through so many lines and practically shaking with excitement, I put together a ton of pictures of different circle skirts and dresses.  I hope you enjoy and of course check out style.com where you can find the complete lines from the designers.
