I am back! Bows, Doodles and Van Gogh mug...

-We are back! I am excited, Sophie....just wants to go smell something other than pose for a picture.

Well, I am actually back to blogging.  I am quite disappointed in myself for not blogging for about a month now.  I am actually getting used to my hours at my new job (which I still absolutely love).  Of course, as so many people make resolutions for the new year, I typically despise them.  I never make a list of resolutions because I always break them, it is inevitable.  My only resolutions usually is not to make a resolution, which in itself is breaking my rule of never making one in the first place.  Confused yet?  Anyway,  I am working on a list of to-do's for 2013.  This will be a list of things that I want to work on throughout the year or improve on, like blogging.  I really do love blogging and miss it so much.  I do need a new lay-out too, this one is kind of icky, okay very icky.  Here is my list, which I actually wrote down in my best handwriting.  It is to bad I write like a 9 year old boy, so I am just going to type it instead of posting a picture of it.  I would like to keep my dignity for a little longer.

Emily's To-Do List for 2013
-Blog as much as I can
-Be creative at least once a day
-Do one Kind act a day
-Design a clothing line
-Take a picture of something everyday

Here is some of what I have been doing recently, other than laying around on my days off these are a few things I have managed to accomplish making or just random things I think I should share.
-My wool skirt that was in the process, but now is finished.  I need to take a picture next time I wear it to work.
-A pile of buttons.  I love going through buttons to pick the perfect ones.
-A hair clip bow I made.  I have such an obsession with bows.

-I felt like drawing a picture and well this is what I came up with.

-My Van Gogh coffee mug I got for Christmas; when you pour hot coffee in the mug, his ear disappears.
-This is most of my costume jewelry.  Got to love it!
-This was supposed to be a skirt but instead I ended up with a massive 15 inch bow, as usual.

Alexander McQueen Fall 2012

Unlike most fashion blogs, which are already following spring 2013 resort wear; I am still absorbing every look that walked down the runway for this fall.  I like to follow fall trends now so I can shop for the trends.  Of course, I always keep up to date on the spring resort lines which are coming out now.  For fall Alexander Mcqueen's line had to be one of my favorites.  I love how it is ultra girly with all the feathers, yet the structure and glasses give it the modern flair.  This trend is one of my favorites this season.  I was planning as usual to only post a few pictures but instead here are a ton from my favorite site ever style.com.  May I just say, Sarah Burton you are freaking fantastic!

Fur Coats and Rodarte Starbucks Card

Hello everyone!  I am getting ready for a wedding which I am attending this weekend.  I am very excited and cannot wait to see family and dance my bum off.  Other than that, I am still enjoying my new job and sewing a bit when I get a chance.  In fashion news, I was browsing and found a shopping horoscope on luckymagazine.com.  Mine was completely true to me; it said to buy leather or fur coats either real or fake.  I love fake fur, it is always warm and of course friendly to those little critters that many people love.  I also found that Rodarte is designing a Starbucks card.  Seriously, how cool of a fashion designer can you be Rodarte?  Those girls are amazing.

-I love Fashion!

Weekly Fashion Update

Oh style.com, I love you so!  I get so obsessed with looking at pictures by Tommy Ton and the gorgeous lines.  If you need a quick update of what you may have missed this week in the fashion world, here is some things to catch you up.
1.  Alexa Chung is writing a book, which is set to debut in September 2013.

2.  Karl Lagerfeld created a hula-hoop purse.  Why, you ask?  Because he can!

3.  Tommy Ton took more amazing pictures of the amazing people and the way they dress at fashion week.
-I love this wool skirt.  I love how perfectly it lays.
-Yeah, that is right she is wearing a sweatshirts and lace skirt, why?  Because it is fashion week and she can!

Classic Gwen and what I have been up to...

If you have not noticed by the lack of recent post, I have gotten a second job.  This has filled quite a bit of my time.  It is in fashion retail and absolutely amazing.  I am happy to finally have a job that is in my field of business.  I have not forgotten about my blog rather, I have some fun posts that I am working on.  So stay tuned...
Other than that, enjoy some classic Gwen.  She can really do not wrong.  I love her classic trench with a modern twist.  She is always able to perfectly combine a vintage modern flair to her outfits.  Vintage by the hairstyle, lips, and doc martens, and modern by the trench and pants.

Jeremy Scott and New Era

We all know how much I love how eclectic or even eccentric Jeremy Scott can be.  I find such inspiration and admiration for his designs and his wonderful mind which helps him to create these one of a kind pieces.  I am also a big fan of all of his collaborations with other designers, especially Nike.  Now he has created amazing one of a kind hats or actually they are called snapbacks.  I was unaware of this terminology.  I usually here those people who use the word "bro" or "brah" in regular conversation refer to the hats as "lids."  I however, am not a bro and refer to them as hats or now snapbacks.  Back to the point I was trying to make... Jeremy Scott has paired up with New Era to take a new approach to the snapback.  Instead of placing a sports team or making it sports colors, they include a snapback with a black shiny vinyl croc print, one with an ostrich skin finish, snake print, tassels, and a one representing a dollar bill.  What an odd mix, I love it!  Of course, the only down side is this line is meant for men, but hey I can still wear one....right?

For sure, they are some tubular lids brah.  I should never type that sentence again.
