A Fun Day of Inspiration and Discovery...

This morning I went to a local bookstore to check out all of the new fashion magazines to see all the trends I may have missed.  May I just say how amazing the new Vogue with Lady Gaga on the cover is!  I was in awe of the whole magazine.  If you have not checked it out yet, I suggest you do so.  Here is what the cover looks like.

Other than that, I have been just trying to figure stuff out in life.  Be warned: it is about to get real...I think whenever someone goes through a hard time in life, no matter what it is, it helps to make you who you are.  I have found recently things that I really care about and feel like I am slowly gaining more confidence, which is something I really need.   I feel as if I am finally becoming the person I want to be, little by little.  I know it is something that takes time and I am willing to work.  This also applies to my designs, as I think I am beginning to nail down the type of look I really like and want  to create and sell.  Wow, if you read this far, then God Bless you and thank you for reading.  Hope you enjoy the crazy adventures that may or may not ensue, because I am finding that life is incredibly unpredictable, which is why I absolutely love life.
Here is where I traveled today, just to get away and go on a mini adventure...Really it was nothing to exciting, but still enjoyable!

-My delicious iced chai tea latte.  Yumm...
 -Some lovely scenery...
It is the little things in life that I love the most!

Kirsten Dunst (Trench Coat Dress) Jean Paul Gaultier

I love a good trench coat.  What if the classic trench coat that you love was actually a relaxed but still gorgeous gown?  This must have been the thought process of Jean Paul Gaultier when he created this gorgeous gown.  I fell in love at first sight with the color, but then noticed the large buttons and the cut, with the trench coat belt.  I do really like this dress and it looks so good on Kirsten Dunst.  She especially has a perfect style and figure for this dress!

Michelle WIlliams Style

I always love to follow Michelle Williams style.  I enjoy how she does not show to much skin, but is still so pretty and a fashion risk taker.  Her relaxed style is both adorable and fashion forward.  She never has a problem getting dressed up and still looking gorgeous at award shows or charity events.

-This is my absolute favorite dress.  Michelle wore this in 2006 to the Academy Awards and got on every best dressed list. She looks so gorgeous.

Jack and Jil, Chanel Paper Bag

One reason I have wanted to live in a big city is because of the awesome street fashion.  It seems in bigger cities people are more creative with outfits, possibly because you are less likely to run into someone you know or work for.  I also like those people who realize possibly they cannot afford to have the luxury items so they make their own.  This picture below which can be found on jakandjil.com, is one of my favorite creations.  This does not look expensive, but in the oddest way I think it is completely fashion forward and of course it is recyclable.  I actually found this picture a few years back when all of the Chanel bags were all the rage.  I stumbled across it again today and thought I would post it.  Also, check out jakandjil.com because it will bring you hours of street fashion entertainment.

Purple Eyes and a Orange Sky...

What can I say, I am quite the fan of make-up.  I just think it is fun to put on and wear; it gives me more of a personal style.  My goal everyday is to make it different from every other day.  I am constantly changing colors, thickness and darkness of eyeleiner, or I may just not even wear make-up.  The other day I did my eyes with a ton of purple.  It was actually really bright and hard to miss.  My customers gave me some weird looks, but I seriously do not care, I loved it.  Later that afternoon, the sky was this weird orange color.  It seemed to turn everything orange, even the air seemed orange.  I have never seen anything like that before and had to take pictures to share.  Enjoy, and I hope everyone is having a great Friday!  The weekend is here!!!

Daphné Groeneveld for Dior Addict

I am such a sucker for cute little "fashion movies" as people call them.  This one for Dior Addict perfume, features the adorable Dutch model Daphné Groeneveld.  I love the scenery, the music and of course how adorable Daphné is.

Gwen Stefani- Laid Back Style

Gwen Stefani has quite an interesting and eclectic style.  She is a fashion risk taker with several of her outfits and I admire that.  I also love her vacation clothes, play clothes or whatever you want to call them.  This look is simple and comfortable.  I like when stars play it simple while still sticking to their personal style.  She is fabulous.

Topshop Unique- Nicola Roberts-Oversized Boyfriend Tee

Honestly, I have no idea who this girl is, but I absolutely freaking love this look.  I know there has been buzz around the internet about the shapeless dress.  I love that she is covered, comfy and still I think it is sexy and fun for a night on the town.  I would totally wear this dress with some kick ass heels and jewelry.  This is such an easy wear because literally about anyone could wear it.  Love it!

Anthropologie Fall Lookbook

I love getting mail.  I know that sounds a bit weird, but I get so excited to open mail.  I always feel special, or a bit like Steve Martin in the movie "The Jerk," when he finds his name in the phone book and gets incredibly excited...thats me.  Yesterday, I got the Anthropologie's fall lookbook in the mail.  I love their clothing, they are always stylish, well made and pretty expensive.  One day I wish I could just go there with a ton of money; I swear I would lose it and buy everything.  Not to mention I would probably be the happiest girl in the world.  Oh day dreams...  Here are some of my favorite things.  I love seeing the clothes in the store though, to truly see all of the detail.
-My mail
-My favorites

-In my mind, this is how I act when I get mail.  "The Jerk" is such a classic funny Steve Martin movie, got to love it.

Recycled Oversized Clutches and Bags

A little while ago I had posted pictures of vinyl clutches and bags that I had made from my jobs old advertising signs.  I finished them a few days after I got an order for four of them.  I decided to make six bags so the "client" who ordered them could pick which one she liked best.  She looked at all of them and quickly said I will take them all.  I was in shock, but extremely excited to make one of my first major sales ever.  I am so happy.  I still have to work on improving one of the bags because though she was happy with it, it still needs a strap and to be made a little more sturdy.  I cannot wait to get more of these vinyl signs in September when we switch them out again.  Here are some of the different designs I came up with.  Let me know what you think or which is your favorite!
-Clutches

-The big bags!  I love this avocado bag, the grommets give it a nice touch.

-This one still needs a strap.

Miu Miu Glitter Sunglasses

Miu Miu Prada is definitely a line of clothing designed for girly girls.  Recently, the line released glittery shoes for fall, now I am seeing more and more of their glitter sunglasses.  I love having glitter or some type of bling incorporated in my outfit and these are gorgeous.  I also found a fun d.i.y. where someone bought glitter mod podge and some glasses to paint.  They were pretty awesome.  These pictures are from the ever addicting polyvore.com.  Hope everyone is having a happy Monday!

Arm Warmers?

I am back from a short family vacation.  I felt like I was gone for so long and that is honestly the best feeling.  I have missed my little laptop because at the last minute I decided I did not want to travel with my laptop in this extreme heat and a cramped up little car.  It may get hurt.  The good news is I am back to blogging.  Yay!  I have updated myself on the blogs I follow and found on the nylon blog a short article under their "good idea or bad idea" section which is my favorite.  This time it was asking if it was a good or bad idea for the "return of the arm warmer?"  I can't believe it, but I actually like the idea.  I do not like it for summer though.  Especially, as this past week has been in the high 90's; I cannot possibly imagine wearing shorts, a tank top and arm warmers.  I would look like a crazy person.  However, for winter I am all about this trend and actually hope it catches on.  My old sweaters now are about to be recycled and serve a purpose.  Net-a-porter sells arm warmers for close to $75.  That is crazy, when you can make them yourself.  The pictures below are from net-a-porter.com.
