Like I have previously stated, I love dresses ever since I was young. I believe they are just so fun and beautiful, especially gowns. This past season, which is technically the current season that we are living in, there were many beautiful gowns. I always find that James Mischka and Mark Badgley of Badgley Mischka, never cease to impress me. They create clothes that this past season seemed futuristic in a elegant, classy way, probably due to their inspiration from the stars (not the celebrity kind). I love all of the dresses below. I made the pictures a little larger so maybe you could see a little more detail.

Coat Shopping!
This morning, my Mom woke me and said that she was leaving in a bit for the mall before the rush of last minute Christmas shoppers hit. I for one love shopping, so with my mass of untamed curly hair and make-up less face. Went with my Mom and Dad for a shopping extravaganza. We had a blast as usual. We made a stop at forever 21 to look for a Christmas present for me, which was a coat that I so desperately need, as it is suddenly cold. I figured that I would make a short video of some of the coats that I tried on. Ignore the smile that never left my face. I admit, I am quite the model and by that I mean...I have no future in modeling. Also shhhh... I am not supposed to know that I am getting a coat, even though I picked it out. Anyway, this song is by a fabulous indie artist by the name of Matt Costa. The song is called Cold December. I thought it went along with the whole its cold and I need a coat in December thing.

Bows!
At the young age of five, I recall making my first sketch book out of construction paper. I loved to draw dresses more than anything. The funny thing about every dress that I drew, was that each had a massive bow placed either around the waist or on the head of my drawing. I have always loved bows! I was thrilled in 2008 when many bows began appearing in high fashion, then headbands came out with massive bows on them. I was so excited! I actually thought that bows were currently out of style in more recent runway shows, but with some research, it seems that bows have never left. This time they are a little more subdued like as Reese Witherspoon, Lilly Allen, Christina Aguilera, and Mandy Moore are displaying upon their persons below.
Bows on headbands still seem to showing up only they are larger. Which is fine with me. This bow headband below is one of my favorites.
Told you they are getting larger, but still i think that it is so much fun, it is the ultimate girl accessory.
I like this bow as it almost follows the new trend of the turban style. It is much more subdued to the major statement pieces like the bow headband above.
Believe me, I know I can't talk about bows without posting a picture of Lady Gaga, who I believe is encouraging this awesome trend.
I really wish I knew how to do my hair like this. I am not sure that I could pull it off quite like Lady Gaga though. She is my fashion hero. I am starting to get a wee bit pathetic. Moving on...
This dress below is by Betsey Johnson the queen of girly fashion! I found a blue dress like this at a boutique that used to be open near where I live. I tried it on and I fell in love, but not so much with the price. I still think of it though every time I see a bow.
If you have an obsession with bows, please send me a picture at EmRaeFashionista@gmail.com! I would love to post some inspiration from the everyday fashionista!!

Fashion Forecast
In my true Emily form, I always have to be prepared and know what to expect for an upcoming season of fashion. I am aware that we are currently living in fall/winter 2010, but the fashion world is already preparing for fall/winter 2011. I was pleased to see a preview of some of the major label collections of style.com. So if you are like me and just can't wait, I will try and summarize the major trends to the best of my ability. First of all the color palette, I found to be absolutely exquisite. Many of the collections consist of anywhere from deep to a bright royal blue, deep reds, a lot of black, and even hints of gold which is more evident in the Chanel collection... which is gorgeous.
There is an almost overwhelming amount of stripes in all different sizes, yet they are mainly vertical. This sorta bums me out as stripes do not look good on a short curvaceous figure, but I still think stripes are fabulous especially in the way Michael Kors and Zac Posen did them. I also found that there was many pleats in all directions, particularly knife pleats that were sewn to perfection! Along with pleats, many items were gathered in a very body conscious way that accentuates ones figure. Then I found fur... which yes i just wrote about as it is in style now for fall/winter 2010. This allows me to believe that some fur items are a good investment. Though the fur that was found in these collections were a little more refined than this season.
For shoes, if you are looking to invest in a good in style pair of shoes, go for the strappy not the shooties (strappy booties). As for make-up, many collections had models with very thick dark eyeshadow done in a very modern, sexy way. I can dig it. Like I said that is just a summary to the best of my ability. If you would like to look for yourself go to....www.style.com. There are just to many pictures that I would want to post.

Winter Wonderland
As it states on my profile, I live in North Carolina where the weather usually consists of very hot summers and winters with lows that are at least 30 degrees fahrenheit. Recently, as in the past week, the weather has decided to go to about 20 degrees, with a wind chill that is...well... is freaking chilly. Due to this sudden change in weather, it has caused me to realize that I am lacking in the winter clothes department of my closet. I thought that today I would share winter coat ideas. Of course I was inspired by my special edition Harpers Bazaar 'Runway Report'. (My favorite magazine) As I was admiring several of the winter/fall pictures of coats I came across a page of camel coats. (Coats the color of a camel, if you will.) I found one coat that I really like and inspired me. The coat is by Chloe. She has such a relaxed style of clothing design that I adore. I just wish that I could have the gams of a model to wear such clothing. I have decided though to solve this problem of my lack of gams by showing options for those of us who are short and a little more curvaceous. If you are in need of a new coat and are looking for a more relaxed earthy feel like Chloe designs, as I always suggest, check out Urban Outfitters they have great relaxed yet very tailored jackets/blazers. I like how this particular jacket is synched at the waist a little, so it still gives you shape.

This trench styled camel coat (below) is more of a classic style, and is a lot less trendy.
This camel blazer (below) just looks relaxed, yet sophisticated. I believe it would look great with a belt if you want to go more for the Chloe style.
There are so many different types of camel coats out at so many different stores right now so the search shouldn't be so bad. However, I do love the classic simple camel color, but I really have always dreamed of having a fur coat. Faux fur of course! I feel like fur is just chic and luxe, gotta love it. For my dream fur coat, I found plenty of them at Forever 21. Though, forever 21 in high fashion is known more as a rip off and cheap teen clothing; but for broke college students, such as myself it is a dream. I also believe their styles are so playful and their large inventory allows me to be creative with so many different styles. Anyway here are some dream fur coats! The first coat (below) is my absolute favorite. This Coat (below) is more of a classy simple gray fur look, if you aren't to daring. It is simply classic.
White fur? It sort of looks like marshmallows, but I like it. Although, white scares me as a coffee drinker.
This coat below is from Urban Outfitters. I like it because it is relaxed but just enough fur.
This is also from Urban Outfitters. It looks like something, that a women of the geriatric age may wear, but still, I like the geriatric look.
Fur also was found all over the runways for this season. I love Versaces' purple fur coat, how playful! Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel, need I say more. That man is a amazing with his designs. He had lots of fur, boots and outfits. Love it! Well sorry to write so much but I definitely hope this helped for the winter season for coats. I am trying to make up for not posting yesterday, but now finally my exams are done and I can begin my Christmas break. The weather men are also calling for snow....in North Carolina, maybe an inch. That will definitely shut down the town. Yes, I am serious, you have to love living here! :) Thanks for reading. Here are links to where I found these pictures...

Neon Trees - Wish List (Holiday Single) HQ + DOWNLOAD LINK
I am sorry for the past two posts being rather short, but like I have said, I am absolutely bombarded with studying for my exams. I promise on Thursday to have something interesting to post. For now, I have been getting into the Christmas season, thus blasting Christmas music. One particular song that I got free on itunes, called Wish List by Neon Trees. First of all I love this band from when I first got their song Animal free on itunes. Their songs are so good and catchy, so they go through my head and my vocal chords all day. Like many other bands, I always judge on the quality of their music, do they have talented instrumentalists...yes...and do they sound good live...heck yes. I really enjoy this band and hope you do too! Get in the Christmas spirit with this song Wish List by Neon Trees!

Jeremy Scott
I want to discuss and introduce a fashion designer who is often overlooked. This designer is still considered an underdog, how? I will never know. He makes beautiful clothing with such a literal design aesthetic, that also has a hint of humor and glamour. This designer is non other than Jeremy Scott! I suggest that you follow his website, he has all of his fashion shows posted. I swear I can look at these everyday. I am completely obsessed with his perfection, and endless creativity, the man is a genius in the fashion world. I was planning on telling you my favorite collections, but can’t decide I like them them all. Anyway, here is the link, enjoy getting lost in fashion heaven.www.jeremyscott.com

Kime Buzzelli
I thought I would introduce one of my favorite artists, who is a fashion illustrator. Her name is Kime Buzzelli, and if you like urban decay make-up products, then you may be familiar with some of her work. I am a big fan of urban decay, but will get into that in another post. Anyway, back to Kime Buzzelli, I found her work in a fashion illustration book that I got for Christmas a couple of years ago and fell in love with her pastel color palette, which allows her work to be happy, yet provocative. I love how she is inspired by "music, voyeurism, magazines, story telling and fashion," as she states on her website www.kimebuzzelli.com. I absolutely just love her work and how she almost makes something slightly ugly into something that is absolutely beautiful. I find it so inspiring. Here is some of her amazing work, thanks to google. This first picture is from her urban decay work.
I love all of her work so much, I am quite the huge fan!! Here is a link to her website, www.Kimebuzzelli.com ENJOY, I know I have!
