Alice & Olivia Spring 2012

I always enjoy Alice & Olivia lines, with Stacey Bendet's bright colors and great fitted clothes.  She always has such an interesting mix of clothes in her lines (dresses, jackets, shirts, pants, etc.).  Stacey's spring 2012 line is beautiful and I love the mod style!  She has very trendy items, but I love it.  Stacey like every other line included a few white garments which are quite chic and pretty.  Her clothes just make you want to go to a sunny place and have a good time.  They are so girly and her evening wear is so gorgeous.  Stacey also introduced her very own shoe line in this collection, and woo, I am loving them!  Let me know what you think.  For now I have had a ton of work to do these past few weeks and more to come, I think it is finally catching up to me as I am not feeling to good.  Hope everyone is still enjoying fashion week like me!

This outfit is awesome from the jacket to the pants and even the hair!

 This dress is so gorgeous.

9-11-2001

I can remember being in fifth grade 10 years ago and suddenly having my lunch interrupted as my teacher said we had to go back to class early.  When we arrived back at class, my teacher had told us there had been a terrorist attack in New York City.  Not knowing what a terrorist attack was, I was not scared, until she continued.  She told us that two planes had flown into the World Trade Center.  Later when I got home, I remember watching the news and seeing the video of the planes flying into the buildings, then the buildings collapsing.  I was shocked and scared.  I love my country and am so proud to be an American.  I remember how I loved watching the American people come together for each other and our country at such a hard time, and continue to do so every year.  My heart and prayers go out to all of those people who lost there lives and their families.  God Bless America.

White for Spring 2012 trend

Happy fashion week to all, next to Christmas this is my favorite time of year.  I was flipping through a few fashion lines on style.com (my personal favorite site for updates); I saw a lot of white, or very light pastels, so light in fact they are verging on white.  I still like many of them but am not a big fan of white and I do not really know why, maybe that will change as I keep looking.  Here are some highlights of the white that is in nearly every collection thus far.  Take note of how there are so many belts around the models waist, yet another trend.  I LOVE FASHION WEEK!!!!

90's fashion

I hope that I do not regret posting about such odd fashions from the nineties.  My professor for my clothing & society class showed us pictures of trends from the nineties.  I realized how much I miss my see through backpack, my butterfly hair clips, long jean skirts, short t- shirts, different colored nails, blue eyeshadow, friendship bracelets, rainbow colors, backpack purses, the hairstyles, platform shoes, Spice Girls, the tv shows, the celebrities, the grunge style; it was all so fabulous, yet so bad, all at the same time.  I was born in the nineties, and find that I am enjoying seeing the nineties come back, so I may relive those glory days.  Here is some nineties inspiration!
-James Rowland sells amazing nineties shoes on his etsy account.

I had to post this picture, I love "Baby's" platforms! (picture from google)
See through backpack!  The picture is from amazon.com, the backpack is only $13.99.
All right that is enough nineties for now, I do not want to do an overload.

Missoni for Target launch at N.Y.C.

This week has once again been crazy, with high amounts of work and papers to write, hence the lack of post yesterday.  I need to definitely make it up tomorrow.  Today I found some pictures of celebrities going to the launch of Missoni for Target in N.Y.C, and there outfits that perfectly support Missoni.  I am so excited for Missoni to hit stores on the 13th of this month (September).  All pictures are from people.com.

Gap (Pointed Red Flats)

We all love to have a great pair of flats!  I never thought I would like a pair this much, especially from Gap. Gap has adorable clothing and does occasionally have cute shoes, but these flats are simple, classic and perfect addition of color to your outfit.  They are only $39.95, which is actually a great price as flats are quite expensive recently.  This picture is from nylonmag.com, where they also describe how they would pair these shoes with skinny jeans and an oversized vintage t-shirt.  I am all about that style!

Emma Stone in Roland Mouret

Who is excited for fashion week?  I know I am!  I can not wait for a time in my life when I can attend fashion week or hopefully I could show at fashion week.  Oh my gosh, what a dream it would be.  For now style.com will be my new best friend as I plan to spend several hours in front of my computer drooling over all of the lines beginning next week. Pathetic, perhaps; it will be totally worth it.  For now it seems as if fashion news is slow on the internet; I guess it is slow before the storm of fashion week which arrives next week.  Today I am just posting a picture of Emma Stone.  Her style is always chic and fashion forward.  I love her in this dress, it is great for her figure and just all around a gorgeous look.
The dress is by Roland Mouret and the picture is from people.com.

Bless This Dress

Urban Outfitters blog always discovers and shares the best websites.  A few days ago they posted about a vintage online store that has adorable clothes, but offers a different way of seeing each outfit.  Instead of having a model stand in fifty different outfits, posing the same way; Bless this Dress tells stories through photographs.  The pictures are simple,  yet they still help the buyer to see styling ideas.  My favorite pictures are below, and you can find more on their website, blessthisdress.net or on their fun tumbler blog (which is mainly just oddly cute pictures) blessthisdress.net/blog.html.  Bless this Dress also has links to all of their photographers sites, for those of you who are interested.

Rupert Grint & Tom Felton for Band of Outsiders

I have been thinking about giving "The Fashion Journal" a bit of a face lift.  I have had my header picture for a while and think I need a change.  I just attempted to make the picture smaller but in turn made it larger, genius...  Anyway, this weekend I think I will try to create a different look, so do not be surprised by changes.  Let me know if you have any ideas.  On the fashion topic of the day, who likes Rupert Grint and Tom Felton?  Uhhh, me!  I am also a fan of Band of Outsiders.  Combine them and you have, Rupert Grint and Tom Felton modeling for Band of Outsiders.  I like the earthy feel and fit to their clothes.  They always offer the classic grungy clothes in a modern way and modern cut.  I also like how informal these pictures are of Tom and Rupert, it fits with the vibe of Band of Outsiders very well.
I got these pictures from bandofoutsiders.com.

Gun Holster Fashion Trend

Let me begin by saying, I am not a fan of guns.  Though, I love this trend that has been popping up recently.  I had a hard time finding pictures, but managed to find one from this season of project runway and one of the very stylish Blake Lively.  Would you ever wear this trend?
