Oh my goodness, HEAT WAVVEEEE!!!! I am not looking forward to the weather the next few days because the temperatures are all in the 100s. The air condition at my house is broken so it is currently in the high 80's-90's inside my room. We are hopefully getting it fixed tomorrow. I figured I would just post some pictures inspired by this incredible heat wave. Think cool beachy like thoughts and have a great day in the sun and heat!

Candice Gordon Music/ Selena Gomez in Alice & Olivia
Yay for internet service! I always say I never want to depend on any type of technology, but for the past two days I have unexpectedly not had any internet. I realized I do depend on the internet too much. It is quite addicting and so much fun to play on. I am happy to be back online!
The first thing I want to share is a music video by Candice Gordon. This particular album or song does not come out until September 7. I do not think I can wait that long. I found this video on nylonmag, and did not like it at first listen. I kept singing it in my head about a billion times and now I am obsessed. This song and video are just badass and I am loving it. The only way to see the video though, is to click the nylonmag link. Enjoy!
Now onto fashion, I love this simple yet chic look that Selena Gomez wore. I like fashion that looks laid back but still has that high fashion flair to it. The top is by Alice & Olivia.

DIY: Vintage Styled Bow Headband
This past week I attempted to do something creative each day. After picking up a few extra hours at work, other errands and a day spent at the pool, my week was quite full. The first day I cleaned my disaster of a sewing area. I organized every thread spool, every scrap of fabric and everything else. I found great fabric combinations which were quite inspiring for some new projects. Day 2, I needed to spend more time cleaning and organizing my sewing area. Day 3, I went shopping, which is creative I guess. I bought a beautiful fake diamond ring and sparkly eyeshadow. Both things I have wanted for a while and was quite pleased to finally find them. I got both of these items for a great deal. Day 4/5 were spent creating a DIY which I am about to share with you. I hope that I am able to really make a plan this week and begin creating something incredibly awesome and special to share with all of you. For now here is my new headband which I am just obsessed with.
I know so many people who have old oversized t-shirts. I never throw clothes out. I make it my personal challenge to create something different with it. I created a top out of an old t-shirt a while back and saved the short sleeves. Since I am just an odd person, I put the sleeve on my head and realized it looked awesome as a headband. I decided to turn the old short sleeve into this fun vintage headband. If you have an old t-shirt cut off the sleeves, find some scrap fabric that is 15X10 and have fun. Here is how to...

I decided to turn the old short sleeve into this fun vintage headband. If you have an old t-shirt cut off the sleeves, find some scrap fabric that is 15X10 and have fun. Here is how to...
Things you will need...
-thread
-ruler
-pins
-scissors
-a sleeve or stretchy fabric
-scrap cotton fabric for the bow
-coffee (not necessary really, but my coffee always finds its way into my pictures)
-Cut a rectangle out of the bow fabric that is 15" by 10"
-Fold in half.
-Sew using a 1/2" seam allowance.
-Press seam open.
-Fold the fabric in half again to create the picture below. Then pin and sew, leaving a small opening to flip the fabric right side out.
-Flip right side out to get the picture below.
-You can use a machine or hand sew the hole that is left.
-Turn the exposed seam to the inside.
-Cut another piece of fabric 4"X2". Sew using 1/2" seam allowance and flip right side out to get the picture below.
-Wrap tightly around the bow and pin.
-You may hand sew or use the machine to sew as close to the bow as possible.
-Next trim the sleeve down to the size you would like, depending on the size of your head.
-Next tuck the bow inside your sleeve and sew.
-Then you are ready to wear. I took pictures on my computer because it does not show how bad my sunburn actually is. Well, actually you can still see it on my shoulder, oops.

Do you like short bangs?
I am not sure how I feel about this trend. I love bangs. I have a huge forehead and have had bangs my whole life whether incredibly short, or long or side bangs, I just love the style. These super short bangs which Rooney Mara and singer Grimes have been wearing around fit both of these individualistic ladies perfectly, but would you wear them? Do you like the style on others? I need help forming more of an opinion on the matter.

Shopping Finds and Make-up
I was supposed to post about the second thing on my list of "Emily's things to accomplish,"which was to sew something. Instead, my day 2 of getting thing accomplished turned into a fun day of shopping and lunch with my Mom. You cannot beat that. I stopped by Sephora the other day and bought beautiful sparkly eyeshadow and my shopping day with my Mom, I bought a beautiful diamond ring (fake of course). I love my costume jewelry! I have to say, I still feel like accomplished something, because these were things that I really have wanted and had been looking for. My list as usual has been switched around a bit and this time it is fine with me; totally worth a fun day with my Mom.
-Sephora brand eyeshadow.
-I used gold, yellow and the orange to create this look. It turned out looking very natural and beach ready.
-Now for my new best friend.

Number 1-Clean up and Organize Fabric
The first thing I had to accomplish this week on my list of things to do is to organize and clean up all of my fabric. I always forget how much I have. It is always a challenge to create something out of it as most of it is just scraps. I think I may try to see what I can make with what I have and see if somehow I could piece it together to make some sort of recycled collection. I also have a ton of old polo's from my Dad that would make cute little dresses. I was going to post about my progress yesterday, but as of this morning I have just finished. Yes, it did take a little longer than I had planned but it was totally worth it. A clean sewing area is a happy and inspiring sewing area. Here are some pictures of this frightening organization project. (The images below may cause nightmares.)
-Only one of the several large piles of fabric to be organized.
-More piles of fabric....
-Yes, this is a messy work area.
-Seriously....there is more piles of fabric.....
-I came home from work and realized there was still a big mess in my room. I finished cleaning it up with my friend Bailey....Bailey's Irish Cream that is. My bed looks so comfortable and alluring in the background.
-Some Norah Jones late at night with Bailey's, you can't beat it.
-I love these fabric combinations below.
-SUCCESS! It still looks cluttered a little, but believe me, this is as good as it gets.
-My clean table :D

Making a plan...
I love to plan. I enjoy doing spontaneous things, but in day to day life I find I need a plan. Recently, I have noticed I have not been planning and because of this lack of planning, I have been lazy and have not accomplished anything. This week I am planning on organizing and cleaning up my sewing area and am hoping to try and finish projects, along with making a few things that I need. I will inform all of you of what is exactly on my list just in case I do not accomplish them; then I will feel shame. I love these headscarfs and am thinking this may be incorporated in my sewing week plan.

Beautiful Pictures =Inspiration!
Honestly, these pictures do not have to much to do with fashion. I just figured I should post them because they are beautiful, which automatically makes things inspiring. These are pictures from my recent trip to Pennsylvania and from my back yard. The weather has been beautiful recently. I am so happy to say that it has been a bearable summer so far with the heat.
-My little baby, Sophie. I like how she is squinting in both of these pictures because it was so bright out.
